Hope Title Company
Robert Orren, Owner
Hope, Arkansas

When Robert Orren graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 2000 he envisioned that some day he would own his own business. However, like most new graduates, he needed experience in his chosen industry.

Orren accepted a position with a title search company in Hope and spent the next six years learning the title search business. He also developed a strong relationship with many of the banks and realtors in the area. In late 2007 the owner of the business decided to pursue other interests and offered to sell the business to Orren.

He contacted Diamond Bank in Hope, and the bank was interested in doing the loan but needed a guarantee from the Small Business Administration.

Robert called on Paul Considine at the Southern Arkansas University ASBTDC for assistance. Considine performed a business valuation and helped Orren with his business plan and SBA application process. The SBA approved the guarantee on a $170,000 loan, and shortly thereafter the loan closed.

Orren indicates that even in a slow economy he is still able to take care of all his expenses and make a small profit.
